Las Vegas, Nevada

Las Vegas, Nevada

Day Twenty-Four

After getting up at 6:45 to make it down to the lobby in time to register and board the contiki coach we set off on our 26 day adventure. As the coach left Los Angeles our tour manager spoke for close to three hours about what was expected of us, rules on the coach and what extra activities were available to us. His long speech was broken up with a rest stop at a route 66 truckie stop, which was like nothing I had seen before. We eventually made it to Las Vegas mid afternoon, enough time to go down to The Strip before heading to the famous sign to get a group photo.

We then had dinner at Planet Hollywood before heading to an Elvis Wedding Chapel where we got to learn about the industry before witnessing an impromptu wedding. It was insane!

Our next stop was Old/Downtown Las Vegas, this is where the zip line and light show are located. It was absolutely surreal to be surrounded by LED lights, half naked people, copious amounts of alcohol and gambling. A group of us girls got ushered into a gold diggers bar club where we got free entry and free drinks until it was time to leave.

We were then shuttled to a Hotel/Casino called The Palms which has a famous club on the 55th storey. The club had absolutely amazing views of Vegas And once again ladies got free entry and free drink tokens.

Twenty-Five

No rest for the wicked in Las Vegas! We were up early, even though it was a free day, to get in as much as possible. Leeza, Kate and myself headed to the Ceasars Forum to experience the over the top shopping centre. We nearly got lost in there! It honesty is designed like a maze to trap people within the building to maximise time spent gambling and shopping.... Or we were just bad at navigation :P We then went on the Mile High Ferris Wheel, where we experienced amazing views of the city and surrounding desert.

We then had lunch at a Mexican place by Flamingo's Casino and met up with Brooke before seeing the Flamingos then heading to the water display by the Belagio Casino.

We then spotted our first celebrity (Sarah Jessica Parker) on our way to the Cirque du Soliel.

Cirque du Soliel was incredible, I highly recommend going to a show if you haven't already. This show heavily focused on the acrobatics, with only a little singing/music and didn't have as much need for the light displays, as I saw in the show I saw in Melbourne.

After the show, we got to do a limo ride down The Strip, which was so much fun! We saw all the major casino's and waved at cars and pedestrians.

We then headed to another high end club, which was separated into two levels, dancing below and viewing from above. I ended the night at the Starbucks just by the elevator at our hotel, watching the drunk Contikiers stumble back. It was pretty fun!
